Finally we've met.. @ Tea Cosy

I was lying on the bed, day dreaming on a sunday afternoon when I saw a mail notification on facebook. I managed to pull myself out of bed to read the mail..

Fast forward to several hours later, there we were, at the discussed location , waiting for the cute girl to show up :D

I would not keep you in suspense too long.. Julian and I finally got to meet the sweet girl whose blog we have been reading for a couple of yrs :D I am still wondering why I have never met her before during our active stomp days . hmmm..our cirle of friends from stomp were different then.. and even when I was invited to join their outings.. i declined coz i was too shy heeheh ... guess that could be why :X

Did I mention she speaks with a slight American accent? Nothing pretentious or whatsoever, it's just her. Cute :P

Hey Jade , I just hope Julian the policeman & I didn't startled you in any way .. hehehe.. guess we were just happy to have finally see you in the flesh .

Lunch was at this cafe place - Tea cosy which double up as a retail shop filled with lots of angels and a mish mash of vintage furniture. Each set of table and chairs differ from one another and it just gives us a very warmth feeling.

Tea cosy serves a mixture of food items ( some self created ones like laska pasta.. wanted to try that actually.. ) and they also have afternoon tea sets. Pity we miss the timing for the set lunch.. it was quite econimically priced...

Treading on familiar grounds

I spent quite a lot of time posting replies in that place once a upon a time.

Friendship developed and grew within that community.

I made a few good friends and our friendship is still going on strong .

Just for that, I am thankful for the existence of that forum for bringing us strangers together.

After an absence of 2 yrs or more, we are gathered together once again in that place.

And the Friendship Continues to Bloom!

With my currently health conditions , sometimes it's just difficult to meet friends as I might be really tired, no mood to socialize or just having one of those ' I am not well, and my medication made me drowsy" mood. The meet up with this bunch of pals has been postponed and pushed back for the longest time. There were lots of talk about it, yet it was all but just passing clouds.. nothing really came true .

But it finally took place last Saturday! albeit not all were present. That didn't quite bothered us as we all really enjoyed one another's company. To think that we have known each other for a few years already! Like Julian said, who's to know that we are able to stay in touch despite of our other commitments :)

We met at Vivocity, and had our dinner at Food Republic on the 4th level. I love the food in this particular foodcourt as well as the interior decor.

It was off to a nice cuppa and desserts at Coffee Beans . Pity the cake I ordered as a disappointment. It seems that the cake standards at Coffee Beans has taken a nose dive .

Met Liz on Sunday again! We totally have no plans so it was time for tete a tete and more yakking . ( we have a daily speech quota to hit you know!! * winks at Ruth * )

It's nice! The salad is quite subsential!
You can tell the server not to add too much wasabi

Liz has always been a great friend.. and she is always there when I needed a listening ear or some advice. She like wise confides in me at times :)

So we talked, we shopped, we ate.... just the best way to spend time on a easy Sunday

Gathering with Stomp pals cum Farewell to Ami

One of the ladies in my stomp gang is leaving the boring rat race life in Singapore for a much nicer pace of life somewhere in Europe cannot reveal too much details. We were all happy for her that she is gonna be a tai tai soon for a period of 2 yrs :P Hope that at the end of the two yrs , she and her husband will have a new addition to their family :)

So we came together once again for a farewell dinner at Pasta de Waraku at Marina Square! It's my first time visiting this Jap 'fusion' pasta place. Given the fact how much I love Waraku, I was quite happy to be trying the food at this place:) Besides, I have heard from friends and read blog reviews about the food... I would say yeah, I wouldn't mind returning to try the other pastas in the menu :)

With most of us knowing one another for such a long period of time, it was quite surprising that it was the first meeting for some of them. Julian and Ivy finally met after one yr! Can't be help since these two fellas are parents themselves. Family comes first you know :) Even though we don't meet one another in a big group as often as we would like to, the close familiarity is there. That's what I like about my stomp gang!

I disagree.. I had cream sauce base pasta! How healthy is that? Lots of chilli flakes and cheese were sprinkled onto my pasta too .. hurhur..so much for the healthy pasta :P

activities of the nocturnal

Saturday morning..

it's 4.39am and i have been awake for the past 19 odd hours!!! Just like last friday, I did a part one and part two earlier..oh..there's even part 3 this time.

Part one

met fellow Stomp pals for dinner at Raffles City SoupSpoon..adjourned to marina for coffee...we split up at around 12mn..

Met FB pals at geylang for tao huey (soya bean) ( about 20 people turned up :P ) Apparently soya bean just couldn't do it for the gang... we needed something stronger . Hence some of us were overjoyed to hop by to Wine Affaire for more chatter, banter and the bottles.

A cozy home like place where u can laze with a few friends,
sit back in the couches and indulge in a nice bottle of wine

I couldn't really take any pictures(with my sucky phone cam)
since the only illumination came from a few tea lights.
Definitely brings the cozy level up a few notches :)

Was over at Edwin's place for a rather s-l-o-w session of mahjong on Saturday (28th July). Was it the rain that made everyone sluggish or was it because everyone at the table simple wasn't in the best of form? It was quite a torture really..plus I didn't even "hu" a single time.. I was super close to winning..but the rest were faster to do so.

Anyway, it was nice of them to surprise me with the Choc a bloc cake!! We were busy enjoying the cake and forgotten to post for a group pic :p (ps..i soften the pic using gaussian blur filter function in p.shop)

The cake has a rather soft texture..so u can see the candle going side ways! It is light, not overly rich and sweet which i think is just right for the palate. It wasn't jelat(the sick feeling) at all after one big slice..unlike some other chocolate cakes

I wanted to join them for dinner after the game, but gave dinner a miss coz it would be too late by then as I had to join the stomp gang for drinks at Ice Cold beer over at Emerald Hill..oh speaking of which..I kinda miss the tapas at Que Pasa..been such a long long time since I been there. As usual it was always a blast meeting up the gang. Full of laughter and noisy banter! Thanks Joe for the oreo cheesecake :)

It has been ages since I last had alcoholic drinks. Me and ethanol just don't go hand in hand! I never like the flushed face, heart racing feeling...least to say the after effects! I seldom drink to the point of a hangover coz I usually drink in small proportion . Perhaps 1 bottle of barcadi breezer proved just too much for my body -_-''''''

I didn't really drink on an empty tummy...since the guys ordered some wings to go along with the drinks.. I ate some as well. Anyway, I was feeling sick when we parted for the night...and thankfully a friend accompanied me while waiting for the cab. I made it home in a piece hehee :P

Yes. I am referring to Stomp. Joined another contest last week and I won again! It's just so simple. This time round is a pair of Reef sandals :) pretty cool.... good for the beach and the pool...

Oh, know why the sandals is called 'stash'? It actually has this special compartment where u can "hide" stuff like money or keys! Is that cute or what! hahaah.. And No, I am not gonna be putting my money there lah.. :P Gonna collect it from Hereen tomorrow

Would be nice if I can have a choice of colors.. white and grey seems nice :)

The One who went Vivocity again

25th June 06 Monday Venue-- Marche @ Vivocity
I was joined by 12 other friends from Stomp for dinner at Marche. Sadly, a few others couldn't make it due to work commitments. It would have been double the fun! It's okay, I am sure there will be more chances for such gatherings :]

A couple of new friends joined us for the first time last nite! That's quite a feat! Considering how difficult it was to coax them to join most of the time (grins)

It's my first time at the vivo Marche..would have to say that the decor is striking, very swiss.. lots of cows...love it~ *can't say much for the food though* I actually circled the small food area more than 3 times and still couldn't decide on what to eat (lack of variety) Everyone has started eating when I actually got my food ;p The good thing about marche is the ability to house big groups .

update on eye infection--

saw the doc yesterday before going for dinner.
Within a mere 10 mins in the doctor's room, I became $17 poorer. No thanks to the stupid infection. I was prescribed with a tiny bottle of medicated eyedrop.

Honestly, this eyedrop tasted terrible~! No no no.. of coz I didn't drink it. After administering 2 drops from the tiny bottle to my left eye, I waited for the dreaded moment. The moment where I can taste the solution in my throat. It usually takes 10 mins. or so before it trickles down my throat . Can't they make the eyedrops in perhaps strawberry or perhaps chocolate flavour? Anyway ..still have to use the eye drop despite the appalling bitter taste :[

The One @ St James--Stomp's 1st Birthday

Time-7 -10pm

Was there on the dot at 7pm :) Collected our stomp card at the entrance and proceeded inside Powerhouse . It was good to be among the first few to enter. Managed to secure a good cozy corner table..and we were quite near the stage as well as the food table :P I guess I was too hungry...coz totally forgot to take snap shots of the food..

Najip Ali and sweet Annabell Franics were the event hosts . There were performances by St James singers as well as Juz B * 1 of the Ch U superbands*

Did not mingle much with the others as it was far too crowded and I didn't quite like the music. So we left about 10 pm. Was really contemplating if I should go over to the Changi chalet, but it started to pour over at vivocity. In the end I boarded the train and head over to the airport.. decided to spend time with family instead. We went to pick Wei Min up!! She's back for a 3 weeks term break :) Look out for the next entry ... Ciao for now!
