Valentines Day Lunch

Alex and I had a filling lunch at
Bistro du Vin

I have heard alot about their set lunches,
and they are part of the Les Amis
group..so I kinda wanna try  :)

Cozy setting..
Many couples were there too..
Cos the tables are not too far apart..
you can actually hear what others are talking about..
and it is quite noisy during lunch time..

Love the wall paper and decor :P

:P yeah..took some pics in the restroom

Lunar New Year Part II

I am getting really lazy.. :P Even though the Lunar New Year isn't quite over, the mood just isn't there anymore.. In fact, there wasn't much of a festive mood this year :( So here I am , being lazy..not having much mood to blog about my new year either..  One thing for sure.. it's different coz I got quite a lot of red packets this year! Oh and of coz, I went visiting with Alex :P

Here are some photos from first, sec and fourth day of the Lunar New Year .

Spent first day at home entertaining relatives
and cousins . Later in the afternoon, Alex and I
went to MBS for the Titanic exhibition
( will write another post about the exhibition)

2nd day was slightly busier,  having to pop by Alex's place ( Bedok )  in the morning followed by visiting his maternal relatives at his uncle's place( Pasir Ris). That's where Ah Gong (grandpa is about 85? )lives . After late lunch and lou hei at his uncle's, we went to Pounggol for another round of visitation. What is new year if I didn't meet up with my gals!

Took pics with Jeslyn and see that's her
seated on the table for the lou hei!

Stayed at Lynn's place for quite awhile..
We ate, we played some cards :P
we were entertained by the kids!

Visited Christine and her parents on the fourth day

and here are my cutest god daughter and god son..
They are growing up so fast!

In case you have not notice..all my clothing have so far
been rather bright and festive!

I am trying to do the bright colored clothes for 15
days of the new year! I did it last yr :P

So far I have not worn any black top! hehe..
Will try to keep it going..

Baby Hannah's Baptism

Little did I know that the year of the Rabbit would have such an abundance of baby bunnies. Just when I thought there wouldn't be anymore new bunnies born, Julian surprised me and Liz with him and his wifey's third child! Having two boys, they were more than happy to celebrate the birth of baby Hannah Marie :)

I was invited to join Julian and Frances at baby Hannah's baptism last Sunday 4 Dec . As in was at 4pm, Alex and I had lunch at Upper Thomson before driving up to Woodlands :) ( will post more about lunch later )

It was held at Church of St Anthony's

It was the first time for me ( so was Alex)
attending a baby's baptism in a
Catholic church :)

Baby Hannah must be really sleepy!
She slept thru most parts of the event :D

She's so tiny and sweet..
She's official one month today!
11 Dec

Some tea time snacks we ate at the reception :)

it rained after that and we went to Causeway point for some
window shopping ..

I'm sure Baby Hannah will bring lots of joy and happiness
to Julian n Frances!

Wimbly Lu and a chubby baby.

Alex & I spent a leisure day with my good friends on the last weekend of November . We had an early lunch at The Ship ( Nex shopping mall ) . They have been around for quite sometime. Food tasted okay ;on the whole it was quite alright.

Lynn and family went to the library with the kids after lunch and so we parted ways there. The 3 Vs were there too. Youngest child Vito has grown much! He is such a chubby and good looking charming baby!!

look at him sleep!
look at those thighs!
and that cutsy cheeks!
I can't get enough of him :P

-----------------------------------

After saying our goodbyes with the Lims and 3 Vs, it was just the right time for coffee and desserts.. A drive round the private estates of Seragoon brought us to this quiet stretch of eateries and shops hidden among the houses.

I have ( as usual) read about Wimbly Lu in some blogs and was planning to visit them one day. What better day can it be than to be there with my friends.

~Whimsical logo with a beetle~
and indeed there was a
red WV parked outside the cafe :D

Just right by the entrance was a
very charming old piece of
furniture..

Dressing tables like this
were very popular in the 60s and 70s!
My mum used to have one!

See that red chair??
My friends n I had such chairs
in our home during our childhood!

This cafe has lots of charming furniture..
some may consider rather mismatch
but I think it's quite nice..

Display cases like this one
is yet another popular piece in the past

Business was brisk and
we had to sit at the back ..

Natural light can come in thru the sky windown..

We shared these

hot chocolate

How sinful!
Root beer float :X

Had a good day with my friends

Ps: I wasn't quite pleased with the standard of service
at Wimbly Lu. One of the service staff has a face
that looked as if we owed him millions of dollars
His face was black and pulled to the ground and
there was no welcome or whatsoever when we entered..
so..yeah..just take note.

Of Yummy 流沙包 ( custard/salted egg yolk bun) at Canton-i

The chinese restaurant my family alwa to at Ion is Paradise Dynasty. I always know there is another chinese restr. on the third floor but just never venture there. So last week was my first time at Canton-i with my aunt.

Started out in M'sia,
Ion is their only outlet in Singapore

Big serving!
I love this chee chong fun..

Couldn't finish this XO carrot cake..
It's nice but oily :X

You just have to eat this!!
The cutest piggy red bean bao!

The best of the day!
流沙包

The skin is purple coz
they added taro to it..

Salted yolk bun is not a salted yolk bun
if the liquid yolk doesn't flow out of the bun!

This one passed the test!!

The One who had desserts at Brunetti

Had a shopping and dessert session with June last wk :D

Both of us love to eat and so happen that we wanted to try out the food at Brunetti. I have read about this Aussie cafe from various blogs, but it is located in Tanglin Mall and the mall is just not quite on my shopping radar so I have not been there for quite awhile.

You will be greeted by the mosaic tiles and the row of display shevles with pretty desserts are on the left. The tables are on the right and it's not really a big place. They do have meals but it's best to have dinner else where and then have your desserts at Brunetti. But having said that, Brunetti does serve some savory items such as sandwiches, pasta n fish n chips ( not a wide selection which is why we didn't have our dinner there ) Oh wait! I just found out that they have breakfast and brunch on the weekend!

Also, June was craving for her mee pok and me for some pipping hot soup.. :P So we had a simple and economical dinner at the food court.

Here's a shot of the entrance..

oh so yummy cakes!!

pretty macaroons
( but I am not a fan)

Pralines and chocolates!

So inviting..

We had this very delicious cream dessert..
( i forgot the name)
This is really good

and also chose the tiramisu
This is nothing extraordinary :P

June's 扁白 ( kidding!)
It's actually flat white ... :P

And this is my
Italian hot chocolate!
Very thick, very choclatey!
has a bitter sweet taste

I love it..
best to drink it hot.. :D

We went around shopping and taking photos
after leaving Tanglin mall..

Most of the malls along Orchard Road
have dressed up for Christmas!

We took some pics outside Tanglin mall too!
Very cute decor..and we were just in time for the
'snow'! * think lots of soap to create a foamy bath..*

Gonna be wet and soapy~~ !

Heheh..cute snowman!

More Xmas decor outside
Ion Orhard

Snowman n raindeers
inside snow domes!

Here's us with the
Ion tree

U can climb up to the viewing area
How cool!

Enjoy this Christmas Season!!
