Bali Getaway Part 5- Jimaran bay

I am gonna conclude my Bali trip in this entry!! Yes, quite over due.. :P

So yes, we have arrived at the touristy stretch of Jimbaran bay where you will find a whole congregation of seafood restaurants

There were too many to choose from so we heeded the 'suggestion' of our driver and settled for the one he drove us to. This place is very much a tourist trap.. but offers lovely view of the sea and sunset.. However, it wasn't really our day as the clouds decided to hide the sun away from our view :(

happy dogs enjoying the waves and sunset :)

My heart kinda sank when those clouds
refuse to move away

the clouds engulfing the yellow yolk..

This was the sunset.. :(
A rabbit came by

Dinner came around 6ish pm..there were two sets of this..
one in chilli and one non chilli..

Shot and edited on Iphone..posted this on Instagram

Bali Getaway Part 4- Uluwatu

Okay..i said i have one last installment for our Bali trip..well..looks like I'm wrong!

There will be part 5.. erm..there are just too many photos to show you!

I have been really busy these few wks.. Really! I can't wait to share with you ..but it has to be put on hold for another one or two entries.. unless I change my mind :)

So yeah..here's my  2nd last part of our Bali trip in April :)

Let's take it from where we left off back then.. After visiting Dreamland beach, we went over to one of the nicest part of Bali *my opinion* ..which is Uluwatu

There are lots of monkeys in this area..
They are well known to snatch things such as glasses, bags, food, hair pins etc.
We were told to remove anything that is easily snatched by the monkeys..

We witnessed how a monkey managed to grab a slipper
off the foot of a child.. the poor boy was crying

In the end one of the cleaners got the slipper back after giving the
monkey a packet of peanuts! and guess what!!
the cleaner promptly asked the boy's parents for (peanut )money...

Anyway, to enjoy Uluwatu , one has to wear proper shoes.
It took us about 1 hr or so to walk from one end of the cliff to the other..
We stopped at various sites for photo taking of coz :)

Sarongs are needed for this scared place.. you will be handed
one at the entrance upon payment of the admission fee.

The attraction here is of coz the cliffs and
 wondrous view of the ocean!

Weather was really hot!
Poor Alex dear was sweating buckets

More photos of the ocean below us...

Can you see the temple at the other end ?

This is the temple at the cliff..

We were not allowed to enter..

------------------------------------------

We left the temple grounds and gonna
make our way to Jimbaran for seafood dinner
as well as enjoy the sunset~!

But before that, we stopped over a very small beach ..
it was said that Julia Roberts was here for the filming of
Eat Pray Love...

Indeed..I do remember this part..a very quick fleeting scene of her walking
in between those walls..

This is the way to the beach..you have to walk down this flight of stairs
and go in between the mountain?

Yup...going down now..
It's really a tight fit!

Lots of people at the beach...

blur shot..so edited it black and white instead

 Shall continue soon!

Bali Getaway Part 3 - GWK Park & Dreamland Beach

We started the day by having a dip in the pool followed by breakfast. Went for a walk around Kuta and our driver came by the hotel to pick us up in the afternoon for a trip to Uluwatu.

Before heading there, we stopped by GWK cultural park . The attractions on the roads to Uluwatu weren't that many so since we had time, we agreed to visit this park. What a disappointment I tell you. Admission tickets amounts to about sin $8! that is considered expensive in Bali. Yeah, the status were really hugh and that is about it!  Oh, alot of places in Bali requires one to pay admission fees...the beaches, the temples etc. Most of them are really cheap like Rp 10000-30000
..but this one takes the cake!

It was freaking hot!

view from the park
-----------------------

Next location
Lovely dreamland beach!
This area is still developing
Resorts are still being built
It is said that this area belongs to Tommy Suharto

It is a relatively small beach compared to the others..
Has been touted as the "New Kuta"

See how clean the beach is...

Bali Getaway Part 3

Picking up from where we left off in my previous post , we travelled up to Kintamain and stopped by a restaruant for lunch . I love this place as it is cooling ( okay in fact super cold with the wind blowing at us! )  plus the lovely lovely view of Mount Batur just right in front of us!

Mount Batur  is located at Kintamani and it has erupted about 24 times since
1800 and still active up to now!

Lake Batur is the biggest lake in Bali and functioning as
irrigation source to all farmers around it

Love the greenery~

Enjoying the cool air and eating my fruits :P

It was buffet style..so here's some of the things we ate

-----------------------------------------
It was about 3.30 pm when we arrived in Ubud . I would wanna stay at Ubud the next
time I visit Bali :) It has both culture and nature....enough of beaches..the nxt time I would wanna explore the cultural side of Bali :)
Our driver brought us to Ubub market for
some bargaining and shopping

It is a must to bargain! Do not be afraid..best is to just discount 50% or less
from the price they tell you..then can then slowly bargain from there

----------------------------------

We ate one 'must eat' food in Bali

Babi guling
At Ibu Oka

Since 90% of Balinese are Hindus
they can eat pork..
This is the famous roast porky
( we both had the mix set)
 Crispy pork skin

After our early dinner, we went back to Kuta and that concluded our day trip..
We went walking around the shopping lanes in Kuta that evening
and ordered room service for supper.. :)

Stuck a hibiscus on my boy..
pretty not? :P

 Enjoying Teh botol..
Not my fav..coz there is a distinctive jasmine taste
