Change is inevitable and change is what I need now

It was a long day at work. Phone calls kept coming in so I had to double up as the receptionist as well.. it was just another typical busy day at work. I am just thrilled that it's Friday and counting down my last days in this "almost like my 2nd home'' office.

It has been a very trying and tiring week for me. There was laughter and there were tears . To say that this week has been a struggle would be an understatement. I had to deal with a lot of my own internal turmoil. Nothing beats a good laugh with my music group friends, some whom I have not met in quite a long while.

It's gonna sound silly but I do have my fears about leaving a job and place which I know so well. It is sad that everything is good..except the two most important factors * in my opinion * - the company boss as well as the salary . Some people work for solely money..never mind if the boss treats them shitty. Money is their main motivator. If the money factor here is attractive, I might have just stayed longer..but it isn't the case.

Colleagues have never been an issue to me , as in , I got along well with most people I work with. Sure I bitch about one colleague to another..but at the end of the day , we still got along and I would say I am quite well liked.

I know I will wake up one day and miss going to work in Toa Payoh. I know I will one day wake up and miss having lunch with the bunch at the coffeeshop that serves sub standard food. I know I will miss sitting on the ' once Jeannette got drunk and puked on the covers'' couch , watching the videos the guys are editing. I know I will miss the neighbour's dog, Sunny the fat jack russell . I will miss going on video shoots ... :(

Humans are so prone to habits and repeated actions.. we tend to find complacency in them. I have been feeling complacent for the longest time.

Change is inevitable and change is what I need now. When you wake up most of the time feeling unhappy about going to work is the time to move on.

we hopped to Partyworld after the
3 hours have expired

Somehow I felt that I was back to
those carefree days
Hahaha. they made me feel young :P

revamp, upgrade, revolutionise = Changes

change to get work done more effectively is good . but people generally takes a while to get used to the changes. i sure hope they will embrace this shift in working style well. did i mention there will be a new player sorta co worker? * long loud sigh plus heave of shoulders* this person has spoken to me about the implementation of making the work flow more efficient. we'll just have to see how well it works out then.

Isn't it great that we can all watch and comprehend tv programs of a language we do not understand because they are subtitled ? We usually take such simple things for granted.. don't we ? Or was it just me

Let me just say that I managed to add subtitles for a gov.project. No, it was not exactly easy, neither does it require a rocket scientist to carry out the task. It's just tiring~! Yes it helps if you have the script all ready. You can then cut and paste the lines into the software (FCP-Final Cut Pro). If you do not have the script..then be prepared to transcribe!~ It is very time consuming. Positioning of the subtitles on the screen is an impt aspect too. Argh! It was the first time I was doing it and video editing scares the day light out of me.

* Crosses fingers* Please... don't let me do that again after this stupid stupid stupid stupid project. Having to watch the video over and over again drives me nuts! I have to play and stop at each segment so to see if my subtitles are in place and if it matches the actors on screen when they speak~ It is madness.....

So now..boys and girls.. if you think adding subtitles to a tv program/movie/ video production is so easy.. think again!

The one @ the Zoo--all in the name of work...

When he told me we have to be at the zoo for a shoot, I was kinda looking forward to it.. after all it has been such a long time since I step foot there.. okay..not like years..but I think a good 5 yrs? I was there before their renovation.. that's when there were no Ben and Jerry's nor Ah Meng cafe..

It was a good way to spend Sat. morning at the zoo..with all the walking and helping them with the shoot and all. I had a nice time overall, even though we didn't cover the whole zoo.

So when was the last time you step foot to the ZOO?
