- Seak peek at our bridal shots -

We have selected our photos from the shoot :)
I was a little disappointed that the amount of photos the photographer has taken fall short
of the usual 300-400 pics ( well, some friends are getting married around the same time and they had an average of 300ish shots! ). We only had about 200 pics to choose from :(
But on the other hand, it is a good thing as we were quite disciplined , managed to choose exactly 34 shots as stated in our contract and didn't buy any extras ( some were badly taken!!) Glad that those we chose came out wonderful!!

Getting all sorts of emotions and jitters now! We are exactly 40 days to our big day!!  and 19 days to our 过大礼 :D

Of Bridal photoshoot -Fun but tiring!

Hello everyone!
It has been awhile since I have been here...
Been rather active on Instagram rather than
my blog as you can tell by now .. :P

Here are some shots of our bridal shoot

Oh, in case you are curious,
the bridal shoot we have chosen is Di Gio
*at Tanjong pagar*

The day started early at 9am..studio shoot was pretty easy..
Simply loved all the styles the makeup artist has created for me

Yup, messy brows needed a trim :P

Outdoor shoot
at The Club hotel...

at the Botanic Gardens

That's all the sneak peek for now! :)

Preview of one gown for bridal shoot

Here's a preview of one of the gowns
we have chosen for the bridal shoot :D

I like simplicity and nothing over the top.

My bridal studio is Di Gio at the usual bridal street at
Duxton area. The girl who helped me pick the gowns
chose some of the funniest gowns ever!
But thankfully we kept asking her to give us more to try and
this came up :)

Di Gio has quite a lot of gowns to choose from but you
have to be firm on the kind of gowns you like and don't
get swayed by the coordinators :)
It's okay to try and try and try..

Before we go for our shoot...I edited this pic
that was taken by a good friend..
This was shot way back last year when Alex proposed :)

ROM Part II

Oh how have I neglected my blog these days..
You must forgive me, it's not easy being
someone's wife! :P ok ok..who am I
kidding? Nothing much has change really..
and yes, we have started addressing each other's parents as
mum and dad. It was a little weird at first
but after a few times it seems okay :)

So yes, we had a short staycation after our ROM that Saturday.

Here's The Scarlet( near Maxwell market)
at Club Street

Nice backdrop at the hotel

Jandy and Melvin came along with us
and left shortly after tea...

oh yes , the kind people at Scarlet surprised us a platter of
complimentary chocolates and strawberries :)

we wiped out everything :P

changed out of my dress and took another
pic with the flowers...

The Scarlet was a beauty at night.. pity
we didnt take any photos of it ..
we were too busy enjoying each other's company :P

Had a celebratory drink up on the roof top bar

Here you go..

Highlights of Mr & Mrs Toh's civil marriage ceremony ( ROM )

Well, yes , after years of being in the 'market', I can safely say that I'm officially off the shelves ! I am now married to my sweetheart of almost two years last Saturday, 8/12/12.

We have chosen a tentative date for the Chinese customary wedding, but nothing is fixed yet..and as usual, all will be revealed in due time :) Our civil marriage ceremony aka ROM was attended by family members and a handful of my closest friends :) It was a event filled with laughter :)  Most Chinese elderly wouldn't have considered a couple officially married until they have completed the traditional customary wedding .

I am gonna interrupt my usual blogging with a short message by the groom

Err....what to say har?
I wanna to thank my father, mother, mil, fil, friends....blab blab blab...you get the gist....lol
Oh...oh..oh...and my wife too!!!! Without her, I can't have a marriage....kekeke
So, we would like to share with everyone the closure of our courtship and the beginning of our married life....

To my wife.... I LOVE YOU!!

Do pardon his nonsensical yet somewhat meaning message :P he is still overwhelmed by the life changing event.

Why now, don't let us hold you back from viewing our photos from the ceremony lunch  ..here are some highlights

 Doing makeup and hair
in my aunt's room..

Mr and Mrs tags made by yours truly.
I didn't want to spend too much money
on this ROM, so we decided not to
have any flowers or sashes on the chairs...

 our wedding bands

 My pretty bouquet...

can you spot my ring?  :)

 Let's begin!
Our fathers were our witnesses that day.

With this ring I wed thee..

Thats our solonimizer ,
Mr Chia Ting Yu.
Quite a friendly person and helpful too..
Gave us some tips on how to maintain
a happy marriage.

my pretty bouquet  again :)

After the lunch event was over, a couple of friends, my bro and ourselves ajourned to
Scarlet Hotel for our staycation. I invited my friends to pop in to have a look at the place..
I have heard wonderful reviews of the boutique hotel :)

Will write about that in my next entry!

It has been almost 10 days since we have been married..
There isn't much difference honestly , and I kept telling myself, yes, Eileen, you are
\a married woman now.. :D
Well, next up will be the customary dinner..so yeah, we are in the process of deciding how
many tables and which restaraunts etc for the dinner.

Watch this space for more updates now!

Here's Mrs Toh signing off.. :)

Goodbye singleton: counting down 19 days

Someone should have warned me how tiring it can be even if it's just planning for a simple ROM lunch event!

I can't imagine how it would be for the Chinese customary wedding which will take place sometime in later part of 2013 :P

We are just days away from being officially, legally married. As much as I want to give my 100% in preparing myself for 8 Dec 12, and embracing the new identity and role , I am not able to .. It is peak period at work..So, yeah, my attention is being spread across all these different things right now.

We met our solemniser over the weekend to settle some paper work. Aren't we glad that he appeared friendly and nice, he even gave us some tips on how to slip the rings into our fingers and how to pose for photos on our special day. I sure hope things go well on that day..keeping our fingers cross now~!

In case you are wondering, our solemniser is Mr Chia Ti Yu.

Oh and here's a simple email template for you to cut and copy in case you are stratching your head trying to compose the invitation email to your ideal sloemiser

Eileen's wedding diary ~We are getting married~

Yes, it has been a while since I last updated you with details about my wedding plans :)
Here's what has been settled
  • ROM date filed
  • Wedding bands purchased
  • Found a solemniser for the big day
  •  Booked lunch for family on ROM day
  • Simple photography needed so my brother will be my photograher!
And here's what hasn't been done :P

  • Dress and shoes yet to be purchased
  • Other half also yet to get a suit and shirt
  • Need a makeup artist
  • Need a hand bouquet
Can't wait to get our wedding bands ...they are currently being resized.. After going in and out of so many jewllery stores and trying on so so many different types of rings* not to mention the endless sleepless nights of thinking which ring to purchase * , we finally setlled on a 18 K white gold celestial diamond ( very tiny ) band. Both Alex and my rings are idenitical. There is a blue sapphire embedded on the inside of the ring. Should be able to match my engagment ring nicely :)

There are more nitty gritty things to see to with regards to the ROM. We are comptemplating if we want to write our own wedding vows. There are about 5 wks to our ROM !! Man is time running out or what~ :P

Right... I will try to update again as soon as I can..watch this space!
