Eileen's Simple Weekend

Hey, where is the sun these days? Seems to have gone into hiding, or perhaps taking its year end vacation. On one hand, I welcome such cool temperatures, yet, it also makes me feel less motivated and just don't feel like moving my butt. So, there I was, 'nua-ing' at home till about
3pm, before I head out to meet Chrissy ,Mark and some of our mutual friends at Boat Quay TCC for coffee.

Chrissy is much better now after her 'nose job' (sinus problem). Definitely more alive than the other day at NUH :P It was good to see that she is recovering well ...and of coz dearest Nicole was there too :) Okay, I have been to so many TCC, but this is my 1st time at the boat quay one :P Suakoo rite?Well , yeah, i know.

I have heard that it is a very cozy place to spend time with friends at..and wow.. yes, I really like this particular outlet. Bean bags were all over the place on the 2nd storey, guests were free to use the cable points for their laptops, a few students were seen surfing or doing their work there. The cafe also doubles up as an art gallery, showcasing art pieces for sale :) As there were 8 of us yesterday, we managed to get the inner most tables, hidden right in a corner, almost like a private room :)

It was super cozy and laid back and not to mention super cold..thankfully most of us brought along our sweaters. I ordered a hot latte mocha and the little one was thrilled to see the whipped cream and chocolate chip on top of the glass when my beverage was served. I fed her some and she also drank a few spoonful of the mocha ..all these prior to her bottle of milk and some potato wedges. Like I say, the weather does have an effect on everyone's mood and energy level , most of us were feeling sleepy and lethargic. Mark actually took a nap there and then :P

Nicole, being the cheeky little girl she is, was prancing around as usual, just right after consuming her milk etc. Perhaps most of us were just too lazy and was engrossed in our chats , hence failed to stop her menacing. She actually pounced on to me and Chrissy with her tummy flat on my thighs. That proved to be a bad bad move :P Just a couple of mins. later, she was coughing a little and made a horrible retrenching noise. That got us worried. True enough, she threw up quite a fair bit . I guess it must have been the pounce that made her stomach upset. Personally I totally hated to witness/smell such things, but because she is the one and only cutie Nicole, I just had to help clean up :P Doesn't feel good watching her in pain. That made me wonder if I, as a 'godmother' would spoil her rotten when she grows up :P

After cleaning up the mess, and Nicole getting a fresh change of clothes, we left TCC at 6.15pm. Parted ways with the rest and the four of us went off to Tiong Bahru for dinner . We didn't eat much as were quite bloated by the food and drinks we had earlier.

Dinner was settled at the Old Airport road food center. Hot, stuffy, bad ventilation and the large crowd was just the right combination for me to get my panic attack. I wasn't feeling good and just didn't really had much appetite by then..i guess i was quite put off by the place . So I simply ate whatever that is ordered.

and the meat is tender. Enough for 3-4 people
