Momiji Shabu Shabu -Singapore's first ever Collagen Hotpot Buffet

Hot pot seems to be a perennial favorite when it comes to dinner gatherings . I love it too myself! That feeling of warmness ( pun intended ! hahaha.. ) from being around family members and good friends just makes me feel happy ! Life is complete when there is good company and good food !

I joined some bloggers and instagrammers at a new hotpot location last Thursday.

Momiji Shabu Shabu has opened its doors , bringing us Singapore's first ever Collagen Hotpot Buffet!! You may have eaten other collagen hotpot before, but this one sure beats the others!! Complementing the collagen soup are over 100 items including specialities such as Kurobuta pork, half-shell scallops, deep red sea prawns ( so so fresh and good ! ) asari clams and more ! Guess what's the best part? You can eat as much as you like and prices are affordable too !!

Come, let me show you the collagen pudding soup base :)

Sure looks smooth and creamy to me! The soup base is a culmination of six hours of simmering kamopong chicken. This is to ensure that the chicken bones are fully dissolved , with every bit of goodness going into the broth. There are goji berries aka wolfberries added to it too!

As you know , we lost collagen as we age.. this hotpot sure aids in 'injecting' more collagen to our skins!

The pot is heated up and pudding has completed melted
creating this broth. We have added some corn here :)

There is extra soup stock avail.at the buffet line for
diners to top up at no extra charge of cost :)

There is a instruction mat for you to refer to in case you are
lost as in what to do :)  Especially helpful for first timers to Momiji!

As there is just one soup base, Momiji recognize the fact that some of us may like to customize our own flavour of the soup to our likening . Below are three seasonings you can use to enhance the flavour of the soup.

There is something for everyone! From slightly spicy kimchee paste to sweet base shoyu and natural Himalayan pink salt! The pink salt is a natural and pure mineral substance gathered from the Himalayas. Do try the soup first before you add the salt. You even get to grind the salt yourselves! Totally fun and hands on experience :)

In order to keep the original taste of the soup,
I would suggest adding the different seasonings to your own
individual bowl of soup :)

As mentioned earlier, there are 100 over items for you to enjoy with the collagen soup . Let me show you some of these delicacies which you can enjoy!

Momiji has 4 different types of noodles for you to choose from !
I am sure there is one that you like!

Wide variety of vegatables to choose from..
add some to enhance the taste of the soup .

There are 2 different types of chawamushi.
Smooth and soft!

Sushi selection

These different pastes are one of my fav at Momiji!
Texture of these after cooking is kinda like fishball :)

You may wonder how do you cook these different pastes..
no no..don't pop the whole bamboo into the soup hehehe..

This is how you do it :)
There are these small red spoons which you can use.
Scoop some and simply just drop them one by one into the soup.

Food quality is top notch !
Eat to your fill!

All kinds of balls to choose from hehee..plus tofu, crabsticks and quails eggs!

Some sushi to fill our tummies while waiting for the raw food to be cooked

Unlimited serving of chicken wings, prawn tempura and teriyaki chicken
( these are just some of the many cooked food )

Here are three of the recommended sauces which you can use to
customize your own dipping sauce
left to right- Ponzu, seaseme and sorry, I forgot the last one :P

After the meat is cooked, just dip it into your sauce and enjoy!
See how spicy ours was!! Husband added chili to it!

Thanks to my fellow foodie friends for allowing us to snap their
nicely arranged food around their table!!
Check out the variety of meats!

Good news!

either wagyu beef slices or snow crab! Make your pick ! Both are equally good :)

Thirsty after all the eating? No worries, there are the usual soft drinks
and even a hot drinks dispenser ( coffee, milo etc) .

and there is also the popular ice lemon tea!

Do look out for the cooking time for the different prawns
try not to over cook them..as it will compromise the
intended taste of the food :)

It's dessert and fruits time after all the savory food :)
So many sweet treats to choose from !!
We like the mochis and eclairs the most!
