台北我来了！！Taipei trip ( I )

Yes, have sorted out some of the photos...hence could start to blog about this trip :)

There just isn't a better way to start our holiday with the airport's computer system glitch. We were shocked to see the amount of people packing in at the China Airline's check in counters. According to the ground crew, this is rather rare...the system breakdown. So we decided to grab a quick bite before coming back to join the queue..hoping that the problem would be resolve by then. True enough.. we were done with the checking in pretty fast.

It was a smooth flight..with me experiencing no motion sickness! That's really a relive for someone like me.... Maybe being seated next to the window helps :P

We were brought to the hotel via our driver ..it was all pre arranged in Singapore :)
The hotel we stayed in is right smack in 西门町Xi men ding。 East dragon ( our hotel) as well as Rainbow is very popular among S'poreans and HKers. It is very accessible and just a stone's throw from Xi men MRT station.

It is an hour's drive from the airport to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 10pm and after resting n washing up, we headed down to XMD for a quick browse through the shops before making our way to the famous 士林夜市 Shilin night market for some yummy food!

I am rather impressed by the commuters in Taiwan.. the is no rushing when it comes to entering the train cabin. People there do not push and generally wait for those alighting to come out before entering. As it is with Hongkong, commuters also keep to their right side , leaving the left side for those in a rush. It is unlike Singapore, where the majority simple stands at whichever side they like.. despite this 'rule' has been in existence for years.

After satisfying our tummies, we went off for more shopping around shilin


Decided to sit down for some desserts at 2am after strolling the streets
Shops generally close about 1-2 am in Shilin


It was back to the hotel there after...cabbed back which cost us about 200NT (about $10)
