We played only for the first part of whole event , as we were merely one of the 3 entertainments provided for the wedding guests! There's belly dancing too ~ Well, after all the bride comes from a rather well to do family and also have relatives from the Allaff family. Oh, as I have mentioned earlier, it is a cross culture marriage between a Malay/Javanese lady and a Japanese gentleman . I believe they met in NY :) Quite an exotic match ~ Wedding ceremonies of both cultures were carried out and the groom's mother was seen in a lovely black kimono . Most of the invited guests came donned in exquisite kebayas , coats and gowns :)
The stage ready for the couple... this is where the couple becomes 'king n queen' for the night ,also where the bersanding ceremony takes place. It is when family memebers give their blessings to the newly wed.

We were able to sit down to partake in the dinner after we were done with our playing. hheheeh.. as usual me and Mus had to take the obligatory food photos before tucking in :P

1st column-- Javanese Ayam Panggang, Mixed veggie, Cold dish
2nd column--Beef Kebabs , Saffron rice with cashew nuts, Baked Pomfret wrapped in banana leaf oh, there's also Tom yum soup as well as a prawn dish and Mutton rendang not included in the pic :)
Desserts were served, buffet style in the reception/foyer. A wide selection for guests to choose from. There were fruit platters too..and it's not just your usual papaya, orange kinda. There were black currents, jackfruit and strawberries too :)
It was truly an awesome dinner I tell you...not to mention the endless champagne and wine that we washed down. (Thomas and Jan had a helluva great time drinking)

Kind of puzzled to see the champagne. But the wedding looks like such a grand affair :) You guys must have had fun right? :)

mrsc-- the whole shebang is a figure of speech... meaning everything available..every aspect of something :)

I just noticed our group photo has this colour gradient, from red/brown/black from the left to blue on the right. Unintended, but nice somehow.
Champagne's rather rare at weddings (could be due to the cost), but I wouldn't be surprised as the wedding organisers clearly could afford it, and there are a lot of Westerners and non-Muslims attending the wedding dinner who would appreciate the bubbly.
So its not english right? It kinda reminds me of the ricky martin song.. she bangs she bangs :P
