Met my aunts and grandma for dinner after my hair cut last evening. What's my aunt craving this week? Pork belly meat! We had a nice cozy corner at 老北京食堂(Plaza Singapura branch). We ordered the usual dishes such as fried pork noodles and xiao long bao ( 小笼汤包）. Gotta order food that my grandma can eat :P The interesting dish would be the 一刀肉.
Look how the meat is nicely arranged in a pagoda form. It is a long piece of meat...very soft and tender. You can eat it on its own, but usually eaten sandwiched in a bun. It is no ordinary bun at 老北京, it is shaped like a fish, hmm...on second glance , it does looked like a petal as well :P

That whatever you call it... bun or something... looks so delicious. The shape is so nice I might not bear to eat it.
yes the bun is cute! I think cute food makes the meal more enjoyable at times :P
