Saturday family meal--老北京食堂

Met my aunts and grandma for dinner after my hair cut last evening. What's my aunt craving this week? Pork belly meat! We had a nice cozy corner at 老北京食堂(Plaza Singapura branch). We ordered the usual dishes such as fried pork noodles and xiao long bao ( 小笼汤包). Gotta order food that my grandma can eat :P The interesting dish would be the 一刀肉.

Look how the meat is nicely arranged in a pagoda form. It is a long piece of meat...very soft and tender. You can eat it on its own, but usually eaten sandwiched in a bun. It is no ordinary bun at 老北京, it is shaped like a fish, hmm...on second glance , it does looked like a petal as well :P

Fatty fatty ..

Trim & colored my hair

Since we are on the topic of food
how about trying some expensive coffee, civet coffee , that is.

"Kopi Luwak as it is known, is considered to be the world's finest coffee by Native Sumatrans. This coffee has an Intense but delicate flavour and no aftertaste, which is unique in coffee. This flavour is due to the fact that the coffee has been partially fermented by passing through the system of the Civet. Only about 500 KG's of this coffee are found each year."

That whatever you call it... bun or something... looks so delicious. The shape is so nice I might not bear to eat it.
