of stress free pig and over cooked sukiyaki

Monday Oct 29

The bunch of us met for dinner at Central on Monday. It has been a super duper long time since we ( lynn, jan and me) met the rest of the girls. Can't be helped since the 3 other ladies are all mothers ! :) Baby talk and childcare was the golden topic during dinner. Well, not wanting to feel left out, I just had to show off Nicole *her photos* as well to the girls :P
when the mummies whipped out their handphones , passing them around .....updating one another of the latest photos of their darling babies :)

I also realised how much some of us seemed to have drifted apart after all these while. It's part n parcel of life... everyone's just too caught up with their lives. I seemed to have nothing to talk about with a couple of them.

Anyway, we had our dinner at TonTom Central.

Ton Tom is well known for their black pig pork dishes :) and in fact, u can only find mostly porky items on their menu. But there's still the odd few beef and chicken dishes though .

Ton tom says that the pigs they use are stress free........ :P
I bet if we still have pig farm here in Spore,
our pigs will be highly stressed

*sigh* this is one of my fav. jap dish. Sukiyaki. Lynn ordered the same item as me. Okay..for the record, the other sukiyakis I ate have always been served to me cooked..usually in claypot or some other stone bowls. But for this one, you have to kinda cook it yourself. Neither lynn nor me knew that we have over cooked our sukiyaki.

After the pork is cooked, we left the fire on, little did we know by doing that, the 'sauce' has changed totally from the supposedly sweet to super yucky salty! !

Thankfully I have already fished out the pork and some veggie from the pot..but I left the udon soaking in the salty pool... *sob* The pork's very nice... soft . I only had like 2 or 3 mouthful of the udon coz it's really too salty for consumption.

Lynn and I were puzzled as to why the sauce was unbearably salty. It doesn't really help even after water was added to it. When we were about to leave, Lynn kinda feedback to one of the waitresses , only did she tell us that we overcooked the sukiyaki. *shrugs* I mean , surely they could have advice us before hand? sigh sigh and sigh...

The others have no complain with their food... everyone whipped out their plates and bowls.. I should have stick to tonkatsu :x

After leaving Central, we decided to take a slow stroll over to Clark Quay (seemed to be going there so very often ) . It was awfully quiet on a Monday night. After dinner drinks was settled at TCC.

Just one group pic :)
