With a simple story line about good & evil plus a friendship of two unlikely friends, this musical has so much to offer in a short 2.5 hours.
Plagued by her green appearance was the not so welcoming Elphaba who's mother passed away since young, and detested by her own father. It certainty isn't' easy being the odd ball. In the twist of fate, she became good friends with her popular but somewhat airhead blonde classmate, Glinda . She even taught Elphaba the art of hair tossing ! Jacqueline Hughes who played Elphaba has such strong powerful voice and it was a delight hearing her sing !In fact, most of the cast gave a thumbs up performance and has crisp strong voices too.
Lighting and costumes plus the staging of the whole musical is nothing but perfect and wickelly captivating. ! If you ask me, it is truly my most enjoyed musical for the year.
Guess some of you could be very familiar with this song lyric ..Love this song Defying Gravity sand by Elphaba
"Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes and leap! "
I am sure children will also enjoy this production as
much as the adults ! It will end its run on 20 November 2016
